Ya'll have been waiting for it... and here it is in Bling Blog form, our travels and AdVeNtUrE to Houston, Texas to see the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show! It was a blast! The first few photos are from Nashville, TN. I snapped a few photos of the sites and scenes in a few of the stores we went into! I spyed some gorgeous rhinestones belts I just loved, cowboy hats and BOOTS! I could I have bought the whole place out on their boots! Gosh so darn PRETTY!
My crowd and I drove down just to see the States and stopped in Nashville, TN for a night then got right back up and hit the road! Our travels were thankfully safe and fun-filled! When we arrived to Texas we wanted to get started to seeing all the sites ASAP! The first day we payed to get in and saw all the great booths and vendors. Too many to count, but my favorites were Cavendar's and Bailey's. Out of the twenty some booths there, there was only one little booth set up with handmade jewelry! I was very disappointed to see only two gals making everything on their own.
I also captured pictures from the show ring where commercial cattle was being shown included bulls, heifers and steers. What a HUGE show ring! I then traveled over to see what I call "Sheep Heaven!" Any breed, no matter what color, shape or size, all of those sheep were GOOD! Top notch ewes that would make great breeding foundations for any future lamb crop! The whethers there were clocking in at 180 pounds, which I assume would be their Grand Champion Drive, unlike back here in PA where our Grand Champion Lamb is valued at 130-140 pounds! Huge sheep!
The second day there we traveled to Surfside beach, close to Galvenston, TX. What a beautiful beach! On the way we saw miles and miles of oil reserves, sort of an eye-sore but we all just tried to embrace a day at the beach! Also included in the photos is a fish that a local caught called "Sheephead" fish. It had massive teeth! Lol!
The third day we went to the Rodeo and watched Blake Shelton in concert! All the exhibitors were 4-H and FFA members! My favorite part of the rodeo was when the calf scramble came out! Texas youth of all ages came out and scrambled for their calf then brought it in to the inner circle as fast as they could!
I hope ya'll enjoyed our little excerpt from our travels to Houston, Texas!
